The photographic art you choose to place on your wall is ultimately the result of the vision of the photographer. This vision, the environment, the lighting, even the mood of the subjects at the time of photographing creates the work that you will want to proudly display on your walls forevermore.
What’s the difference between a chain studio and a custom photographer? Chain studios often hire anyone, resulting in straight forward and basic posing with a “say cheese” mentality. You have a limited, handful of poses to pick from with minimal editing, allowing them to charge less. Custom photographers will spend much more time with you, making sure the images are just right. A chain studio will often spend only 15-30 minutes with you, sending you on your way with straight, unedited images. A custom photographer puts a lot more into it, taking pride in creating art. A custom photography session can last up to a couple hours with another 5 1/2 or more hours behind the scene.
Why do custom photographers cost so much?
Here are some general time frames we, as a custom photographer, spend on each client:
30 minutes-1 hour Phone Conversations and answering questions, session prep
1-2 hours Photo session and spending time with you and your children
1-2 hours Photoshop time, retouching and perfecting every image
30 minutes Uploading proofs to the web for you to view
1-2 hours Ordering session and helping you choose images
1 hour Uploading and ordering images to a pro lab
30 minutes-1 hour Preparing images for delivery and reviewing everything
1 hour+ Follow up, keeping in contact, sending emails, etc.
What is the best clothing to wear? When you schedule your session we’ll discuss what set we will be using and let you know the style and colors of clothing that will work best.
What is the procedure in case of cancellation? We understand what parenthood is like and how unpredictable children can be, therefore it is perfectly fine to cancel a booking even on the day of your session. No cancellation fee will be applied if we are given a call and the original booking is rescheduled within two weeks.
